Tour Itinerary

We will be transferred out of Hanoi city around 1 hour then beginning our ride today. We will be climbing through the remote ethnic minority villages of the Muong people, all the while weaving through terraced rice paddies. Hosting both challenging cross country paths and quiet paved mountain roads, we will be rewarded with fabulous views of misty green karst formations and the massive Hoa Binh Reservoir. After several climbs and fast downhills, we enter the magical valley of Mai Chau where steep mountains ring an expanse of electric green rice fields. Enjoy the quite evening of this lovely little village.

Two biking tourists on the road of Vietnam

Today's ride features two challenging climbs that pass by stunning vistas, remote traditional villages and some of the most beautiful rice terraces in Southeast Asia.

The first climb is a long uphill that will take us out of Mai Chau Valley and onto an elevated plateau in the mountainous part of the region. Following shaded paths beside crystal clear streams, we’ll then enter the Pu Luong Nature reserve and have a traditional lunch overlooking the village’s rice terraces.

After a breather of 10 kms cycling on flat terrain through green fields and ethnic minority villages, we make another short but steep climb to our Pu Luong homestay, where we can chill with a beer or relaxing walk around the village.

cycling

Today begins with a bang: a screaming downhill through the village’s steep rice terraces. Safely in the valley, we embark on a wonderfully scenic and remote x-country track for 15 Km. Riverside bamboo forests shade us as we roll on, completely alone in nature.

We’ll then take an hour-long van transfer before cycling towards Ninh Binh, a mesmerising area known locally as “Ha Long bay on land” thanks to its magical riverine landscape, with sheer limestone mountains rising up from the paddies We’ll pass by limestone formations on the way. We’ll finally reach the Ninh Binh Hotel in the evening.

Cycling across the rice fields

Today is a free day for your muscles to recover before the next days of adventure. Visiting around Ninh Binh or doing small activities like Tam Coc Boat Tour are recommended.  Around 8pm, we are leaving for train trip to Da Nang.

Arriving train station in Da Nang then transferred to Hoi An. Leisure time for old town and beach after arriving  Hoi An around 3pm.

Walking and cycling in Hoi An old town street

Drive out of Hoi An early then Climb the Hai Van Pass which is known as the most beautiful coastal ride in Vietnam.

Relaxing moments for cyclists at the top of Hai Van Pass

We’ll leave Hoi An early in the morning riding along the coast to Tam Ky for lunch break, then cycle to Chau O Town. From here, we’ll veer towards the coast to start our ride on country roads through Sa Ky fishing village to My Lai (the site made famous by the massacre of 504 locals during the Vietnam War). We’ll travel by bus and bike as the scenic highway follows the coast southward to Quang Ngai city.

Bike trip in countryside rice field

Our bus will pick you up at the hotel in the morning for a quick (1hr) transfer to Tam Quan, where we’ll start our ride. This is one of the best riding days; the route will take you through rice paddy fields, salt making flats, fishing villages and mountainous areas. You’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant on the way. After lunch, we continue riding to Tuy Phuoc town where we’ll meet our vehicle. We’ll drive for about 30 minutes to Qui Nhon City. Then, you’ll have free time in the evening for dinner and exploration. Quy Nhon is a great town for seafood.

Bike tour at village roads

Today’s ride is along on a unique little road that follows the Reunification Express Railway. Again, we’ll transfer out of town to avoid the main highway and start riding along a remote, but well-maintained road running alongside the tracks. We’ll stop at Dai Lanh beach for refreshments and a dip in the sea before continuing to Nha Trang.

A Leisure day for beach or boat trip to islands, snorkeling in Nha Trang. This evening, take the train trip to HCMC.
